DC14 Animal
The Dyson DC14 Animal is the Dyson DC14 specifically designed for pet owners. The DC14 Animal has an upright design, but features Dysons wheel.
This is basically where it moves on a ball, so people can easily move it round corners and other obstacles. It works incredibly well, and is one of the reasons why Dyson is so well know for it’s ingenuity and design features.
The DC14 Animal is also designed to work on all different floor types. It has a brush bar which can be turned off when the vacuum is being used on delicate carpets, or going over hardwood floors.
There’s also a mini turbine head that can be attached on to the DC14 animal. It’s ideal for getting all of the animal hair of places like car seats and upholstery.
The DC14 Animal bases itself on the Dyson ‘Root Cyclone Technology’. This means people who use it don’t need any bags.
This is a big advantage for two reasons. The first is that is there are no bags then they can’t clog up. The second is that is much cleaner. The dirt is easily disposed and people don’t actually have to go out and buy bags so they save the money they would normally have had to spend. The DC14 Animal just needs to be cleaned out every 6 months or so, and it’s all good.
The DC14 Animal is tough and durable and is tested to make sure it will stay that way for at least 10 years. It of course comes with all the normal Dyson guarantees and the support thats available, which goes 7 days a week.

We bought one these as a result of owning the more basic DC07 for our other home. The justification for the trade up was the acquisition of two kittens. We are not disappointed – the performance of this cleaner makes others look second best – the carpet and floors look and feel so much cleaner. Additionally, this model has a brush control switch (which the DC07 does not) so it’s great for hard floors too. Yes, it isn’t a featherweight cleaner but it works so well that that seems a fair price to pay for the performance it delivers. The choice of tools is great including a rotary turbo brush, and overall, it reeks of quality construction. Despite the kittens our home has never been cleaner thanks to the DC14 – unreservedly recommended – buy it.

Our daughter’s old vacuum packed up. We bought the Dyson DC14 Animal Upright without having seen it – having done our research on the internet including Amazon where we read and compared the reviews carefully. We were keen to find something that was robust, would last and importantly pick up dog hairs! We also wanted something that had style. A difficult challenge when buying on behalf of our daughter. Athough some feedback had focused on the weight of this vacuum be took a chance as virtually everything we read was positive. We are pleased to report one very happy daughter – this vacuum has bought a new meaning to cleaning. We also understand that friends have asked if we will buy them one. Whilst a great recommenfdation in itself – the answer is no but do visit Amazon!!
